The Triangle of Life

The philosophy is: "A healthy mind, body, and soul lead to a healthy life."

At Madrassah Siddiqul Habib, we employ this philosophy as our guiding principle to support children's success in all facets of life. Our objective is to enable children to effectively manage the challenges and achievements they encounter, fostering their ability to navigate life's highs and lows productively.

We believe that effective Islamic education should be comprehensive, engaging the entire child's development—spiritually, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. Therefore, we have adopted a holistic approach that emphasises the importance of recognising and valuing all aspects of a child's well-being and the interconnected nature of their various attributes.

Islamic education involves teaching the mind, transmitting knowledge, nurturing the entire being, instilling moral discipline, and fostering mutual learning with an open and respectful attitude towards diversity.

"Teach your children swimming, archery and horse riding" - Umar ibn Al-Khattab (R.A.)

It is perhaps worth considering the aforementioned tradition more closely. The precise sequence of skills – swimming, archery, riding – is significant, for here discipline in the three degrees of body, mind, and spirit may be discovered. Swimming concerns the disciplining of the body's breath; archery that of the mental focus in sighting; and even though the Prophet – peace be upon him – favoured archery over riding, in this context riding a horse represents the restoration through discipline of spiritual authority in the soul.
