Curriculum

At Madrassah Siddiqul Habib, the curriculum will follow the 'Triangle of Life' development model. This includes adopting various syllabuses to provide children with a comprehensive and balanced Islamic education.

A syllabus selection criterion is implemented based on content coverage, child friendliness, effectiveness, and potential for growth. This approach allows for continual assessment to ensure the provision of quality education.

Islamic curriculum

At Madrassah Siddiqul Habib, we do not rely solely on textbooks and require our staff to produce additional lesson plans for each subject. We have designed a 3 year “Further Studies” course for students aged 14 and above who are interested in advancing their knowledge of Islam. The program offers a comprehensive exploration of Islamic teachings, history, and contemporary issues, fostering a holistic understanding of Islam in daily life.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
  1. Understand the foundational aspects of Islamic teachings and how they apply to modern life.
  2. Explore the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and their relevance today.
  3. Apply practical jurisprudence to contemporary issues faced by Muslims.
  4. Read and comprehend the Qur'an correctly, appreciating its context and teachings.
  5. Engage in discussions about Islamic history and contemporary issues, fostering critical thinking and community engagement.

Homework Club

At Madrassah Siddiqul Habib, we recognise the significance of secular education. Therefore, our curriculum includes one day each week where fully qualified tutors will assist each student in excelling in their secular studies.

Tutoring sessions are integral to our philosophy, providing tailored support to each child’s unique learning needs. These sessions offer a personalised learning experience where children can receive focused attention from tutors, addressing specific areas where they may need additional help or encouragement. This individualised approach not only helps to bridge any gaps in their understanding but also fosters a deeper, more thorough comprehension of the subjects being studied.

Furthermore, tuition sessions help to build a child's confidence and self-esteem. In a supportive and nurturing environment, children feel more comfortable asking questions and expressing difficulties, which can be more challenging in a larger classroom setting. This one-on-one interaction helps to create a positive learning experience, where the child feels valued and understood.

The tuition sessions will cultivate a love for lifelong learning by making the learning process engaging and enjoyable. Tutors will employ various teaching techniques and materials that cater to the child’s interests and learning style, making the sessions more relatable and stimulating. This will hopefully ignite a passion for knowledge and discovery, encouraging children to pursue their academic interests with enthusiasm and determination.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award

As part of the Madrassah curriculum, students will engage in The Duke of Edinburgh bronze Award program on a weekly basis.

The Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award is a prestigious youth achievement award that encourages young people to develop skills, engage in physical activities, volunteer, and undertake adventurous journeys. Designed for ages 14 and beyond, the award aims to foster personal growth, self-reliance, and resilience. The participants will complete sections in Volunteering, Physical, Skills, and an Expedition, each requiring dedication and commitment. By engaging in diverse activities, the participants will gain confidence, develop new talents, build friendships, and contribute positively to their communities. The Bronze Award is the first level, serving as a solid foundation for further achievements in the silver and gold levels.
