FAQ's

Why should I send my child to Madrassah Siddiqul Habib?

Sending your child to Madrassah Siddiqul Habib can offer numerous benefits. Madrassahs, in general, play a crucial role in the holistic development of children by providing both religious and moral education. Many young Muslims stop attending Madrassah at age 14+ citing competing demands on their time with secondary examinations. We believe that this should not be the case. Here are some key advantages your child attending our Madrassah:

  1. Strong Foundation in Faith: We instil a deep understanding of Islamic teachings, helping children to further develop their faith, building upon what they have learnt in past Madrassah curriculum. They will learn to recite the Qur'an, understand its meanings, and practice daily prayers.
  2. Project-based Moral and Ethical Development: Through taking part in recreational, sport, volunteering activities, children are taught important values such as honesty, kindness, respect for others, and responsibility. These teachings help shape their character and guide them in making ethical decisions throughout their lives. They understand the importance of service to the community.
  3. Homework Club: We offer alongside our advanced Islamic study sessions; a dedicated homework club where young people will be taught by qualified teachers. These sessions will guide students with homework, coursework, past papers and bespoke revision.
  4. Highly Qualified Staff: We hold our teaching staff to exceptionally high standards. Our educators hold both dars-e-Nezami, alimiyyah qualifications and graduate degrees. They are not only deeply committed to the teaching process but are also well-versed in the most current pedagogical methods. Furthermore, all staff members have passed a DBS check and regularly receive training in safeguarding and other relevant areas.
  5. The Duke of Edinburgh Award: Madrassah Siddiqul Habib will enrol every child on the bronze level Award for the. This will give young people further life skills, whilst ensuring that the time they spend on community and volunteering activities is accredited.
  6. Positive Environment: The environment in the madrassah is nurturing and supportive, with teachers who are dedicated to the well-being and growth of their students.

How will the subjects be taught?
Students will be grouped, with each subject taught by specialised teachers. Rather than one teacher covering all subjects, children will rotate between classrooms. Classes will feature team arrangements where students interact with multiple teachers.

What is the average class size?
Currently, our classes maintain an average of 10 children per class. By employing diverse educational methods, we anticipate that the teacher will engage with each child at a significantly higher level.

Will my child be assessed?
Yes, your child will have a short assessment when he attends the first session. Parents are also invited to come in to discuss their child/children’s progress and any recommendations which the teachers have made. The principal is always available to discuss student progress at any point in the madrassah year. Parents are welcome and encouraged to email or phone the madrassah at any time with questions or concerns regarding student progress.

Where is Madrassah located?
The Madrassah is presently located at All Souls, Astley Street, Bolton, BL1 8EY

What is the Madrassah’s opening hours?
The madrassah will run Monday – Thursday 5.30-7.30pm. Two days (Tuesday and Wednesday) are dedicated to advanced Islamic studies, one day (Thursday) is dedicated to the homework club and one day (Saturday) dedicated to fulfilling the requirements of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Are the Parents allowed to visit the Madrassah?
Parents are welcome to visit the Madrassah to meet the staff or discuss their child’s progress. However, the madrassah policy requires that all visitors report to the front desk to sign in and secure a visitor’s badge before going to any part of the building. This policy has been created to avoid unnecessary interruption of classes and to assist in providing a safe and secure learning environment. Unfortunately, due to the high demand a parent tour of the building is not possible during operational hours and annual Parent Induction days are the only times when a visit is possible.
